The user can perform the below steps to create a budget in QuickBooks desktop.
· At first, the user needs to move to the company menu and hover over planning and budgeting. And then select set up budgets.
· Now, create new budget.
· And set the fiscal year for the budget, and then select either profit and loss and balance sheet. Also choose the next tab. If you select profit and loss, then you can add additional criteria, such as jobs or class tracking.
· In case you select profit and loss, then select either create budget from scratch or create budget from the previous year’s actual data.
· End the process by selecting finish.

forecast in QuickBooks desktop
For creating a forecast, the user can follow the steps below:
· The user needs to head to the company menu and then hover over planning and budgeting. And select the set up forecast.
· Also, choose create new forecast.
· The next step is to set the fiscal year for the forecast. The user can also specify additional criteria such as jobs or class tracking, but this is optional.
· Choose either create forecast from scratch or create forecast from the previous year’s actual data
